Gary was born to the late Arley and Maxine Gardner. Preceding were daughter-in-law Nicole Gardner and mother and father-in-law Carmella and Facundo Chavez. Survivors beside Roberta included: brother Arley Jr. (Michelle); children Gary Jr. (Melissa), Adam and Laura Gardner, Brian (Mindy) and Kevin Roman; 12 grandchildren; special nieces, Kelly (Matt) Woodmancy and Missy (Bruce) Vonderau; special friend Jason Edwards; and extended friends and family including those in Cleveland, OH; Las Vegas, NV; and Los Angeles, CA. Gary proudly served in the Air Force as a Weather Forecaster for nine years with an honorable discharge. During that time he worked overseas with security service operations, later being assigned to NORAD mountain with a Top Secret clearance. In 2004 Gary became a small business owner operating a local construction fence company, Gary’s Fencing. He was highly dedicated to his friends and family, often assisting them with building projects, trips to the mountains fishing with his friend “little buddy” Tony Padilla. Gary was kind, patriotic and dedicated to his family. Especially looking forward to vacations, barbecues, and family gatherings. Memorial Service held March 7th at The Springs Funeral Services at 3115 East Platte Avenue in Colorado Springs.
