Harry Allen Martin, 76, of Newburgh, Indiana passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on June 27, 1943 in Evansville, Indiana, the son of the late Harry Louis and Ellen Inez (Dilger) Martin.

Harry met Diana when they were just out of high school and they had a beautiful life together. He worked for many years as a mechanic for Vectren and retired in 2003 so he could spend time with his grandkids. Harry built their log home in 1976 with the help of friends and always enjoyed woodworking. He made personalized birthday paddles, picture frames and lots of other beautiful wood products. For many years the family enjoyed camping at Yellowbanks and spending time outdoors, including riding on his John Deere tractor. Harry was involved in the Sons of American Legion in Newburgh, Elks Lodge 1180, Newburgh Masonic Lodge 174 and Lions Club of Chandler.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Diana Martin; two children, Tammy Coleman (Brian) and Jeff Martin (Rena); two grandchildren, Destine Martin (Demarion) and Nick Martin (Molly); three great grandchildren, Markel Williams, Isiah Martin and Naviah Martin; and several other extended family members.

Harry is preceded in death by his daughter in law, Karen Martin.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Koehler Funeral Home, Perigo Chapel in Chandler, Indiana and again on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Perigo Chapel.
