He graduated from Northwest R-1 Highschool in Jefferson County, Missouri and received his BS in Micro Biology Biogenetic Engineering from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Donna (Paul) Haberstroh; maternal-grandmother, Juanita "Pete" Pieper; one brother, John (Barb) Machalek; three sisters, Deanna (T.J.) Sharley, Holly (Troy) Faries, and Heather Haberstroh; one nephew, Andrew; four nieces, Miranda, Alexa, Shana, and Natalie; one aunt, Sharon Dean; and a host of other relatives and friends.
