Matthew Ryan Scott, 24, of Goldsboro, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Friday, March 13. He is survived by his mother and step-father, April Chavis Eubanks and Jerry of the home; his father Walter Scott and special friend Jean Stephens of Mount Olive; a brother, Allen Chavis of the home; his girlfriend Olivia Jeffers aka "grandma" of Goldsboro; and his grandmother, Ann Chavis of Goldsboro.
Matthew was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bernie Chavis; and grandparents Oliver and Mavis Scott. Matthew will be remembered as being a kid at heart, with a love for his favorite cartoon, Sponge Bob, munching on Cheeto's, and playing with his pet friends. Matthew also loved the Christmas season and celebrated it almost every day.
A Graveside service to celebrate Matthews' life take place on Wednesday, March 18, at 1 o'clock in the afternoon from Wayne Memorial Park, Dudley, with the Rev. Valerie Hardison officiating. The family will also greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-7:30pm. Flowers are welcome.
