Carolyn A. Kingsley Meadows won her earthly battle with her latest cancer on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Bowers Hospice House.

Born August 10, 1939 in Pluto, WV, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Edward and Alice Butcher Kingsley.

Carolyn graduated from Richmond High School and Concord College. She was a 28-year employee of the Raleigh County Board of Education, retiring in 1999 as an elementary teacher at Institute Elementary School. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and enjoyed cross stitching, quilting and reading.

Carolyn resided in the home she and her husband built. She most enjoyed spending time with her family whom she loved dearly.

Besides her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Meadows, special friend, Ralph Bragg, brother and sister-in-law, Edward Keith and Lois Kingsley, and special uncle, John Plumley.

She is survived by her son, Bob Meadows (Patty), and daughter, Karen Kosut (Tim); grandchildren, Brody Meadows (Jessica), Jessica Bennett (Tim), Tyler Kosut (Heather Chernuton), and Ryan Kosut (Caroline McCune); great-grandchild, Jace Bennett; Sisters, Lynn Kingsley of New York City, Beverly Toney (Charles) of Bluefield; brother, Kevin Kingsley (Lisa) of Richmond, KY; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Gwen Cooper and Vela Harper, and her beloved dog, Sophie.

Services will be Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 3 PM at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, 1901 South Kanawha Street, Beckley, WV. with Rev. Roger Harding officiating. Visitation will be from 1 PM until 3 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. A private burial will be Monday, March 16, 2020 at 10AM in the family plot at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley.

Pallbearers will be Bob Meadows, Tim Kosut, Tyler Kosut, Ryan Kosut, and Brody Meadows.
