Christine A. "Chris" Young went home to Jesus on March 14, 2020, at age 70. Chris was born to Bob and Helen Densmore, on June 9, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan.

Chris first met her high school sweetheart and future husband, Jerry Young, in 1963 in Livonia, Michigan. They attended Bentley High School together. Chris went on to attend Anderson University, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish Education. They married Aug. 30, 1969, and went on to have three children, Carrie, Kevin, and Kellie. They made their home in Alexandria, Indiana, where they served faithfully at Christian Congregation Church for more than 40 years. In addition to being a loving wife, mom, and "Grammy," Chris loved serving as an employee of Little Lamb Nursery School, Anderson Community Schools and Trilogy Health Services. Chris enjoyed learning new languages, serving in children's ministry, having dance parties with her grandkids, and worshipping her Savior! Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, and she shared His love with everyone she encountered. Joshua 1:9 Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened; do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Helen Densmore, and several extended family members.

Chris is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jerry. She is also survived by her three children, Carrie (Scott) Rowland, Kevin (Rachel) Young, and Kellie (JT) Morgan. She was known as "Grammy" by her eight grandchildren: Mackenzie McCarty, William, Bryan, and Luke Rowland, Kameron and Hallie Young, Lily Kate and Makenna Morgan. She is also survived by her sister, Kathleen (David) Densmore, brother-in-law Dennis (Joyce) Young, and sister-in-law, Karen (Jeff) Mason. She is known as "Aunt Spunky" to several nieces and nephews. Finally, it is impossible to name all those who she considered to be and were very special friends and family.

Special thanks to: Christian Congregation Church Family, Trilogy Family, Dr. Natraj Reddy and Medical Oncology Team of Community Health Network, and Kindred Hospice Team.

Chris will be profoundly missed by her family and friends, but we rejoice in knowing we will be together again!

Services are pending and arrangements will be announced by the family at a future date.
