Mike was born to Mitchell and Geraldine (Puffer) Jackson in Muskegon and spent his childhood mostly in the Whitehall- Montague area. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960-64, also recieving his High School GED during his military tenure. After his Honorable Discharge from the Air Force, in 1964, Mike married the former Janette Thompson, from Muskegon. Together, they had two daughters, Mina & Dawn (now deceased Dec. 9, 2014) Mike worked locally several years for Ott/Story Chemical Co.. After that, he and the family moved to Webster, Texas where Mike worked many years with ARCO, to include 5 years in Alaska from 1985 to 1990. Later, after leaving ARCO, Mike moved back to Michigan, to live in the same area he had grown up in.
Mike had several health problems during his last few years, but always kept an upbeat attitude. He had many friends and relatives in the area that will miss him greatly, as will his family and I. He was one of a kind and my best friend.
