Lena Ellen (Kelly) Clark, age 86 of Niskayuna NY, passed away peacefully on Friday February 21, 2020 at her home surrounded by family.

Lena was born in Rumford Maine and was the loving daughter of the late Maryann (Reed) and Thomas Kelly.

Lena was preceded in death by her much-loved husband of 55 years Darrell Clark and her siblings Norman Kelly of Canton, ME, Gladys Burns of Ocean City, MD and Eunice Brown of Toms River, NJ.

Lena leaves behind five children and five grandchildren: Terry Clark and her husband Steve Weiss of St. Augustine FL, Debbie Moore of St Augustine, FL, Colleen Clark of Melbourne, Australia and her two sons Sam Whitney and his wife Victoria and Alex Whitney, Wayne Clark and his wife Lisa of Richmond, VA and their daughter Hanne, and Brian Clark of Guilderland, NY, and his wife Christine and their two sons Sean and Aiden.

Lena spent most of her life in Yorktown Heights, NY raising her five children. She made many lifelong friends in the Curry street neighborhood where she joined a bowling team, a bridge club and taught many local kids how to skate on the backyard pond.

The family spent two years in England following Darrell’s work transfer where they enjoyed many trips exploring Europe.

Following retirement, Lena and Darrell moved to the warmer weather of Lewes, DE. They happily lived there together hosting many memorable family gatherings, entertaining around the pool and playing endless games under the one rule that Lena’s hair was not to get wet. Lena travelled regularly with her husband including an RV trip across the country. She was a keen golfer and wouldn’t dare miss a trip to the casino. Lena was well known for her coordinated outfits, love of chocolate, eating out and black cats.

Spending her last years in upstate NY, Lena continued to beat her children and grandchildren in her favorite card games under the watchful eye of her beloved cat, Oreo.
