Charlie was a veteran of both WWI and WWII. He registered for the draft on April 27, 1942, at the age of 63 on the same day as his brother, August Asp. Charlie (also known as "Chas") was a bachelor who worked as a laborer in Duluth with his brother, Albert, after they left their father's farm in Almelund. In 1942, he worked as a waiter at the Wickstrom bar in Duluth where he lived. His brother August's draft record states that Charlie also worked as a self employed contractor.
His parents preceded him in death, as did his two sisters, Sophie and Eva; and two brothers, Albert and Andrew. August died in 1948. It is not known when Charlie died.
