BETTY JANE FOREMAN: 1925-2007

Stillwater, Oklahoma --- Betty Jane Foreman, 81, formerly of Felt, Oklahoma, died Friday, August 3, 2007.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday in Felt First Methodist Church, Felt, Oklahoma, with Royce Bursh officiating. Bural will be in the Wheeless Cemetery, Wheless, Oklahoma, by Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, Perry, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Foreman was born October 13, 1925, in Elkhart, Kansas, to Noah and Alice McManaman Humble.

On November 23, 1945, Betty married Aubrey Foreman in Clayton, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1975.

Betty recieved her bachelor's degree from Panhandle A&M College in 1945. She later recieved her master's degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Alva, Oklahoma. Her first teaching job was in Haviland, Kansas. Betty also taught in Boise City and Felt, Oklahoma, for a combined teaching career of 20 years.

Betty was a member of the Christian Church in Elkhart, Kansas and attended the Felt First Methodist Church. She served on the Board of the Felt School Federation, Cimarron Heritage Center, Felt Housing Authority, Felt Water Development and the Felt Community Building. Betty was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, bowling, crossword puzzles, yard work and traveling. She had traveled all 50 states and six continents.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a sister, Maxine Sipes.

Survivors include a son, Cam Foreman and wife Lisa of Canyon, Texas; two daughters, Dixie Johnson and husband Mike of Perry, Oklahoma, and Susan Nan Jennings and husband Jay of Rockford, Illinois; six grand children, Hayden Foreman of Canyon, Texas, Myriah Johnson and Dakota Johnson, both of Perry, Oklahoma, Mindi Gibson and husband Jeff of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Hunter Henley and Carson Henley, both of Marietta, Oklahoma.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday in Felt First Methodist Church, Felt, Oklahoma.

The family suggests memorials be to the Felt School Foundation or the American Quarter Horse Foundation in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 North 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma, 73007.
