Peggy Ann Hilliard Keeling , 82, of Keysville, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Monday March 2, 2015. She was born in Danville, Virginia on September 12, 1932 to Cumbia Clementine Vass and Jesse Hiram Hilliard. She is survived by her husband, Albert Cordell Keeling as well as her two daughters- Angela Keeling Woodruff and Katherine Keeling Clatterbuck. In addition, she has four adoring grandchildren ( Hannah, Nolan, Madeline, and Walker). She is also survived by three sisters (Joy H. Millner, Ruby H. McLelland, and Joanne H. Turnquist) as well as her brother( Hiram Hilliard). Preceding her in death were siblings Rudy Hilliard, Gary Hilliard, and Jean Arendall. Peggy Keeling was an elementary school teacher for 36 years. She was an active member and choir member of Ash Camp Baptist Church for many years. She served as a docent for the Red Hill Auxillary and was a devoted volunteer to Charlotte County Friends of the Library, Woman's Club, and the APVA. Peggy and Albert were married in June 1958. Peggy was a devoted, gracious, loving, kind-hearted woman who always cared more for others than herself. She loved being a grandmother ( " Honey" ) to her four grandchildren most of all.A "Celebration of Life" service will be held at Ash Camp Baptist Church in Keysville, Virginia on Friday March 6th at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Ted Smith will officiate. There will be a reception to follow in the church's fellowship hall. All are welcomed. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Charlotte County EMS / Rescue Squad. Thank you.
