Born on March 23, 1931, in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Albert A. and Marion Donaldson Newcomb. She was married for 46 years to the late Carl K. (Babe) Carroll.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Melinda Hamm Simpkins; her grandchildren, Kristyn and Jeremy Simpkins; granddaughter-in-law, Jodi Simpkins; her great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Gavin and Zachary Simpkins; her forever son-in-law, Winfred Simpkins; and her faithful companion, Buttons (her Yorkie).
Virginia spent her 40-year career in banking and retired in 1996 from Signet Bank in Easton. She enjoyed reading and flowers, and loved spending time with her family. She always made time to support her family member's events and activities.
Ginny had a terrific smile and beautiful sparkling blue eyes, and could always find humor in the smallest things.
A memorial service/visitation will be held at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home in Easton on Sunday, March 25, from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
