She was born June 22, 1952 in Evansville, Indiana and was a Pendleton resident since 1974.
Gail was one of the "original" teachers in the Kindergarten program at South Madison Community Schools from its inception in the Fall of 1974. She retired in 2017 after teaching and loving the children of South Madison for 43 years. She was a beloved and devoted teacher of multi generations of children, Gail believed strongly in the Public School System and Early Childhood Development which were her focus throughout life.
She was a 1970 graduate of Madison Heights High School in Anderson; received her BS degree in Early Childhood Development from Purdue University; and her Masters degree in Counseling from Ball State University.
Gail was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pendleton; South Madison Classroom Teachers Association; Indiana State Teachers Association; Madison County Democrat Women's Club; and founder of Lilies in Bloom afterschool program for young girls.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Paul F. Wilson, whom she married July 12, 1980; mother, Reva (Curtis) Esche of Yorktown; siblings, Debbie Boston of Middletown, Ohio, Alan (Christine) Esche of Pendleton and Andrew (Sharon) Esche of Cincinnati, Ohio; niece and nephews, Tom Boston, Joseph Boston, Allison Terry, Aaron Esche, Alex Esche and Christian Esche.
She was preceded in death by her father, Morris Esche; grandparents, Floyd and Anis Curtis and Louis and Enid Esche.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at First United Methodist Church, 225 W. State St., Pendleton, Indiana 46064 with Pastors Courtney Porter and Michelle Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton.
A visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 16, 2020 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St. Pendleton, Indiana
