Roy Stanley Harvell, 80, of Leland, was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 10, 2020.

A son of the late Bernice and Nell Harvell, he was born in Maryville, TN on June 19, 1939. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Lewis Harvell and sister Billie Jean Brown.

Roy worked for Linden Chemicals and Plastics for 30+ years then worked for the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Department for 5 years as a bailiff. Roy loved the outdoors. He spent his spare time fishing and enjoying God’s creation. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Stan Harvell (Rhonda) of Atkinson, NC; daughter, Jennifer Harvell Barnes; sister in-law, Evelyn Harvell of Bolivia; and grandchildren, Carly Shepard (Brian), Kendall Harvell (Marisol), and Emily Barnes.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, March 16, 2020 in Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, Southport/ Oak Island with the Reverend Jacob Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends one-hour prior to the service at 10:00am. Burial will be private following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Lower Cape Fear Life Care, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC, 28401.
