Born in Chester, PA in 1977, he is the beloved son of James D. and Carol A. (née Colgan) Brett.
Jim was the loving and proud father of Vincent James Brett and Peter Wallace Brett, with former spouse Rosalie Brett; dear brother of Maria L. Mooney (Joe) and Kate E. Brett Miller (Jason); and loving boyfriend of Kaitlin Bitting.
Jim was a graduate of Bishop Shanahan High School and Ursinus College, where he was inducted as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He worked for many years in marketing and communications, most recently for Vanguard in the financial industry. He was an avid consumer and creator of music and brought wit and insight to all his endeavors.
Above all things, Jim loved spending time with Vincent and Pete, his dudes. The three shared a love of baseball, music, their dog Oakley, and going on adventures together. After building a family with Rosalie, the two forged separate paths but remained devoted and loving co-parents. Recent years brought some of his happiest times as Jim discovered passions for hiking, running, craft beer excursions, and travel alongside his beloved Kaitlin.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10:00 AM-12:00 PM Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at SS Philip & James Church, 107 N. Ship Rd, Exton, PA 19341 followed by his Funeral Mass 12:00 PM. Interment immediately after at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
