Ussery.
Cynthia Hargus was born near Marshfield, Missouri, February 27, 1854. There she grew to womanhood and on November 22, 1879, was married to Thomas B. Ussery of the same place. To this union five children were born, three daughters and two sons, of whom one son, Frank and one daughter, Mrs. Florence Gant, preceded their mother in death. Besides her husband and children, she leaves sixteen grandchildren and two brothers, besides other close relatives and friends.

The deceased with her husband and children came to Kansas in September 1900, and located on a farm four miles east and one mile south of Belle Plaine, where they lived until last fall when they moved to the Clough homestead, west of Riverdale, where Mrs. Ussery died January 26, 1921. She became a member of the Free Will Baptist church when a girl and retained her membership there. She was a kind and faithful wife and mother and made friends wherever she went. The funeral was held at the Methodist church here Thursday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. I.E. Bula. There was a large attendance. The children present were Mrs. E. Overly, Belle Plaine, Mrs. Millard Osborne, Rome, and Kelley Ussery, who lives with his father, west of Riverdale. Burial took place in a local cemetery.
