WINONA - Graveside services for Beatrice Bell Prewitt, 90, of Winona, who died of heart failure Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at her residence, were at 10:30 a.m. today, at Stonewall Cemetery near Ethel.

Mrs. Prewitt was a retired school teacher for Vaiden Elementary School. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Winona.

She was preceded in death by her husband, F.D. Prewitt.

She is survived by two sons, Frank Prewitt Jr. of Tullulah, La., and Wiley Prewitt of Winona; one sister, Sara McCool of Kosciusko; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation was from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Oliver Funeral Home.

Beatrice Bell Prewitt was a teacher in the Vaiden, Mississippi (Carroll County) school system. She taught many students while in Vaiden, and created many memories that will never be forgotten.

Mrs. Prewitt was the daughter of Wiley Bell (1885-1953) and Sarah Ardella (Arabella) "Sallie" Adams (1887-1971). She was a descendant of Charles and Esther Bell of County Antrim, Ireland. Her brothers and sisters were Annie Bell (b. 1908), Frank Adams Bell, Sara Katherine Bell McCool, and Arthur Leroy Bell.

She married Frank Dudley Prewitt, son of Charles Feemster Prewitt and Beatrice "Lilly Bee" Black.

Mr. and Mrs. Prewitt had two sons: Wiley Charles Prewitt, Sr. (b. 1939) and Frank Dudley Prewitt (b. 1942).
