In March 1963, he retired from the Lorain-Cuyahoga Works of the U.S. Steel after 41 years as a special chauffer and hospital driver.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where he served as an Usher, and a member of Buckeye Lodge 68, Prince Hall-Free and Accepted Masons. He was Lodge Tyler.
He is survived by his wife Ollie, three sons, Willie J., Alphonce and Warren all of Lorain; six brothers, Oliver, Matthew and Lawrence, all of Lorain, Edward of Oberlin, David of Cleveland and James of Cambria Heights, N.Y.; four sisters, Mrs. Clara C. Wilson, Mrs. Alex (Mary) Baker, Mrs. Richard (Harriet) Gause and Miss Vernola Crisp, all of Lorain; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.lm. Wednesday at Wesley United Methodist Church, the Rev. Elgan B. Reynolds officiating.
Buckeye Lodge 68 members will conduct services at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
