Ida Mae Shaw, widow of Edwin Shaw and daughter of Samuel and Rebecca Weybright was born near Versailles, Ohio, Sept. 30, 1860.

She passed away at her home in Covington, O. July 28, 1931 at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 28 days.

She was the seventh of a family of ten children, three of whom have preceded her in death four brothers and two sisters survive her, namely:
Jahue Weybright, of Hartford City, Ind.;
Mrs. Katherine Ewing of Haines City, Fla.;
William J. Weybright of Spokane, Wash.;
Samuel Waybright of Jacksonville, Fla.; and
Mrs. Minnie Wampler of Lynn, Ind.

She was married to Edwin Shaw, March 6, 1883 and to them were born four children all of whom survive their mother: [as follows]
Miss Edyth Shaw who lived with her mother;
Roy Shaw of Columbus;
Irven Shaw of Terre Bell [Terra Bella], Calif. and
Mrs. Otis Buchanan [Glenna Irene Shaw Buchanan] of Troy, Ohio.

She also leaves four grand daughters and one grand son.

After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Shaw resided near Versailles, Ohio for about one year after which time they went on a farm near Union, Ohio were they remained for seventeen years. They then moved to the vicinity of Covington where they continued farming. Having left the farm and moved to Covington about three years ago. With the exception of three years when she and her daughter resided in Dayton, Mrs. Shaw has lived in and near Covington for the past thirty years.

She was a Christian woman who lived a most helpful and cheerful religion in all the relationships of her life. She first became a member of the Church at Union, Ohio and a number of years ago removed her membership to Covington Christian Church. Her loyalty to her Church was shown in transferring her membership to the Riverdale Church in Dayton while she lived there and then bringing her letter back when returning to Covington.

No finer tribute can we pay to her than to say that she was mother in every sense of the word. To her children and grandchildren she was the dearest of mothers and to those who came into her home she was looked upon as a most motherly spirit. Uncomplaining and cheerful she bore her burdens with a beautiful spirit of faith that endeared her to all who knew her. She could well say "I have fought a good fight, I have kept the faith, I am now ready."

The funeral service was conducted from the Congregational Christian Church Friday afternoon, July 31 by Rev. Omer S. Thomas. Burial in Highland Cemetery with Routzahn Brothers in charge.
