He graduated from Clearview High School in 1933 and later attended Virginia State College. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church, Loain, a Sunday School teacher and a B.Y.P.U. Group leader.
A veteran of World War II, he was a sergeant and served as a clerk-typist in the European and Asiatic-Pacific Theater of War. He was a member of Herman Daniels V.F.W. Post 8226, Elks Lake Erie Lodge 362, and Buckeye Lodge 68 F.& A.M. all in Lorain.
He is survived by four brothers: Oliver V., Lawrence M., both of Lorain; David C., Cleveland; and James O., Queens Village, N.Y.; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Wilson, Mrs. Mary Baker, Mrs. Richard (Harriet) Gause, all of Lorain, and Vernola Crisp with whom he made his home.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Second Baptist Church, Lorain, wit the Rev. G.W. Henderson of Mansfield, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
