Married to Mabel Smith who preceded him in death, also preceded in death by 1 son Francis, 4 brothers, Bob, Lowell, Jack and Kenneth. Survived by 1 daughter, Brenda M.Hill, sisters Betty, Barbara, Janice and Helen, and grandchildren Shawn, Jeanette, Dustin, Ryan, Troy and Austin.

Franklin proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Franklin was buried in Florida with full Military Honors. The family is hosting a memorial service in Fowlerville on Saturday, March 21st, 2020 at Herrmann Funeral Home,at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00 am with Rev. Edwin Carpenter, officiating.
