Edward Stanley Cook was born August 27, 1953 in Bridgeport, Alabama to the late John and Lillian (Ledford) Cook. He departed this life on Thursday, March 12, 2020.

Stanley received his education in the Marion County School System. He accepted Christ at an early age and later united with Calvary Baptist Church in South Pittsburg, Tennessee.

A quiet, kind, and happy spirited person who loved drag racing, he reached a long-time ambition on August 17, 1979 when he set a world record in Super Stock H Class drag racing at Rockingham International Raceway. His favorite hobby was watching racing and spending time with family and friends.

Stanley owned Cars Automotive and provided bus transportation for the Marion County School.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillian Cook, and Brother, Charles Cook.

Left to cherish his memory are two sisters, Diana Cook-Carter and Vivian A. Johnson; four brothers, Clifford (Donna) Cook, John Cook, Ronald Cook, and Fredrick Cook; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Central time. Interment will be at Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, Tennessee.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, March 20, 2020 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Central time at the funeral home.
