Betty Jean Perkins, age 83, passed away March 11, 2020.

Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Alcoa and was retired as a mail carrier from the Alcoa Post Office. Betty’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. After her retirement from the post office, Betty was a dedicated volunteer at Blount Memorial Hospital and a nursery worker at First Baptist Alcoa.

Preceded in death by her parents Amos and Opal Tallent and her husband William J. Perkins.

Betty is survived by her sons Bruce Perkins, Brian (Kimberley) Perkins, and brother Hal (Dale) Tallent. Grandchildren Dale (Noel) Love, Wesley (Mollie) Love, Kelsey (Kraegen) Caughron, and great-grandchildren Kamden Lanxter, Maggie Love, Kellyn Caughron, Eloise Love, KJ Caughron, and Cate Love.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 15 at McCammon-Ammon-Click Funeral Home in Maryville. Funeral Service will follow at 5 p.m. with Pastor Bruce Marston officiating and music by Russ Whaley. Family and friends will gather at 1 p.m. on Monday at Sherwood Gardens in Alcoa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Tennessee.
