Patricia Lynn Putnam Bowles age 69 passed away surrounded by her happiness, her family on March 10, 2020. Pat passed away from anemia a complication related to Myeloid Dysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a bone marrow cancer.

Patricia was born May 24, 1950 in Ogden to Glen R. Putnam, Sr., and Dorothy Mary Pike. She was the second of four children and grew up in the Holladay area, where she made many lifelong friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and older brother, Robert. She met and married Steven Bowles in 1969 and together they had five children. They were later divorced.

Pat worked as a cord board telephone operator for thirty-six years, first for Mountain Bell, later retiring from AT&T.

After retirement, Pat enjoyed travel and hobbies such doing crafts with her family and friends creating many projects for every holiday and festivity. She also enjoyed ATV rides with family throughout the mountains of Utah.

She was able to fulfill a dream of traveling to Scotland to visit her “Big Little Sister,” Sadie Crawford, twice. Most recently with her daughter, Stephanie, to see the Scottish Military Tattoo before being diagnosed with her MDS.

Throughout her life, Pat always opened her home and heart to any traveler, welcoming them to the “Hotel Bowles” Sometimes this was an overnight stay and others lasted longer, but all became family to her. She would never realize the huge influence she had or the amount of love others had for her.

Pat was humble always sharing and giving everything she had to her family and friends. She was also a humble follower of her Savior and served in many callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her callings in Primary most.

She is survived by her siblings, Barbara Putnam of Olympia, Washington and David A. Putnam (Rita) of Ivins; children, Stephanie A. Bryan (Greg) of West Jordan; Brian S. Bowles (Jackie) of Tooele; Melissa K. Bowles of Draper; Alisha L Christensen (Ron) of Henderson, Nevada; and Kristen N. Aaron (Brett) of West Jordan; step-daughter, Wendy Lohmeyer, of Tooele; special sister-in-law, Gina Putnam, of St. George; Scottish daughter, Amanda Brooks (Brad), of Riverton; fifteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A special thank you to Dr. Justin Call and the staff of the Utah Cancer Specialists; Lisa, Janet, and Laurie of Harmony Hospice; and Josh, Mindy, Amy, and Angelique from Intermountain Home Care and their love and support to our mom and family as we went through the cancer journey.

A very special thanks to our sister, Kristen, for her unyielding and constant care and support of Mom. The tireless trips to the doctor and appointments and shopping we sincerely thank you. Also, to her grandson and bestest friend, Brian. We are, as Grandma was, eternally grateful for your willingness to move in and take care of her.
