It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wayne Thomas White (Royal Oak, Michigan), born in Highland Park, Michigan, Sadly passed away on March 9, 2020, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Harvey White and Marie White.

He is survived by : his wife Jane; his children,
Michele McCabe (Mike),
Greg White (Lesa),
Mike White (Mary) and
Angie Owens (Shaun);
his grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, Kayla, Brianna, Bridget, Savannah, Andrew, Hunter, Madyson, Lexi and Sierra; and his
great grandchildren, Kaylee, Zachary, Juliana, Charley, Evie, Mason, Declan and Liam.

Wayne Thomas White, a longtime resident of Royal Oak, passed away peacefully March 9, 2020, with his family at his bedside. He was 82 years old.

Born December 18, 1937, in Highland Park, he was the only child of Harvey and Marie White. Wayne grew up in Hazel Park, where the father served as Chief of Police. At 17, he left high school in order to join the United States Air Force, where he became a Staff Sergeant. After his Air Force career, he joined the Royal Oak Police Department, where he proudly served for 28 years. He retired from the Police Force in 1988 but stayed on with the City of Royal Oak as an officer of the court for another 11 years.

Wayne was Past-President of the Police Officers Association and FOP Lodge 130. He was also an active and dedicated member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Birmingham. Wayne will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

A Memorial Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd. (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Thursday, March 12th at 12noon. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 10am. Interment in Great Lake National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan.
