John A. Clay, 85, of Hershey passed away Monday, March 9, 2020 at home.

Born April 22, 1934 in Myerstown, he was a son of the late John W. and Sadie (Firestine) Clay.

John was a Staff Sergeant in U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He retired from paper sales with Georgia-Pacific.

John was a former member of the Evangelical Free Church of Hershey, where he sang in the choir.

He was a member of Brownstone Lodge #666 F. & A.M.

In addition to spending time with his family, John enjoyed golfing, hunting with his wife: Leota, and playing softball and racquetball.

Throughout his lifetime, he touched the lives of many and will be remembered for his smile and whistle.

John was preceded in death by his sister: Esther Grander.

Surviving are his wife of almost fifty-six years: Leota C. (Cisney) Clay; children: Craig, husband of Gayla Clay, Mitchell, husband of Ranae Clay, Suzanne, wife of Fernando Pettine, and Jolene “Jodie” Rogers; grandchildren: Jessica, Jordan (Chrissy), Julie Ann, Sasha (Seth), Caleb (Candy), Rory (Amanda), Matthew (Jamie), Faith (Daniel), Zachary (Casey), and Abigail; and, great-grandson: Brecken.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 09, 2020 at Hershey Free Church, 330 Hilltop Road, Hummelstown preceded by a visitation from 10:00 AM.

Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville on Thursday, April 09, 2020 at 01:00 PM.
