Donna Yvonne (nee Mayfield) Eaton, 81, of Mount Juliet, TN, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 with her husband at home from a tornado.
She was born on Friday, November 4, 1938 in Southside, TN to the late William and Thelma (nee Jones) Mayfield.
She was survived by his 3 children; James Monroe "Monte" Eaton Jr. (Becky), Kristi Dawn Lane (Brian) and Mitchell Alan Eaton (Crystal McDonald); grandchildren, Derek Austin Hardy-Moore (Karen), Andrew "Drew" Hardy-Moore, Cara Dawn Smith and Jacob Aaron "Jake" Hardy Moore (Eva) as well as 9 great-grandchildren. Donna is also survived by her siblings, Richard Mayfield, Debra Mayfield, Arnold Mayfield and Ronald Mayfield.
She was a member of Edgefield Baptist Church in East Nashville for many years. When moving to Mount Juliet in 1977, she joined First Baptist Church in Mount Juliet. She taught many Sunday school classes over the past 43 years.
She was a finance director at First Baptist Church in Mount Juliet. When she retired, she still volunteered at the church in any way she could.
Donna was married to her husband for over 57 years. She was a true example of God's love in her family, her marriage, the community of Mount Juliet, and beyond. She was humble, kind and lived life fully. Whether she was on her daily walks, cheering on the Cincinnati Reds, Bunko or card night, church fellowship or supporting her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren through any activity she exemplified the love of God.
A gathering of family and friends was offered on Friday, March 6, 2020 from 4-8 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37204.
Celebration of Life services were conducted by Brother Billie Friel at 2 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2020 with a gathering at 12 PM in Green Hill Church, 13251 Lebanon Road, Mount Juliet, TN 37122.
In lieu of flowers, donations to help with cleanup and restoration from the tornado, are highly requested to be made to the First Baptist Church Mount Juliet, 735 North Mount Juliet Road, Mount Juliet, TN 37122.
