David Vernon "Dusty" Leach, age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 10, 2020.
Mr. Leach was a native of Randolph County, coached girls' softball and "snaked" logs almost all of his life working in lumber. He worked hard and coached passionately.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Adaline Leach, son, Kenneth Miller and daughter, Arnita Kimes.
He is survived by his sons, Herbert "Lee" Leach and wife Debbie, David V. Leach, Daniel C. Covington, Dimiteri Faggle, Tyler Kimes; daughters, Marie Lowery, Lynn Martinez, LaShonda Wright, Mischale Patterson and husband Gary; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 13, 2020 from 1:00-2:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 at Piney Ridge United Methodist Church, 4976 Piney Ridge Church Rd., Seagrove with Rev. J. Harold Williams officiating.
