(3 March 1953 – 5 March 2020)
Jill Annette Estep, formerly of Raritan, N.J., passed away on Thursday the 5th of March 2020, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset. She was born in Plainfield, NJ, and grew up in Caldwell, NJ, where she graduated from high school. She married Anthony Mattei. They raised two boys, Joseph and John. She worked as a homemaker, and as a widow finished raising the boys. Her second husband, Raymond Estep, is from Kentucky. She was the primary care taker of her mother, Doris Warner McCoubrey, still living with dementia at 96 years old.
Jill was the one person you most certainly wanted on your side of anything contentious, knowing she would tolerate no nonsense nor impropriety. Her brother John called her Moses because her gyrating gait over her walking stick could ford all waters. She lived foremost devoted to family and friends, and they consequently lived as devoted to her. She was also a great friend to animals and lover of nature.
She leaves her happy remembrances with her husband, Ray Estep; with her elder brother and his wife John McCoubrey and Sally McCoubrey; with her sons Joseph Mattei and John Mattei; with her granddaughters, Joseph's Brittany Arthur, and John's Daniella Mattei and Jennifer Mattei; and with her many friends.
Jill was predeceased by her first husband Anthony Mattei, her father John William McCoubrey, and her younger brother Stuart Walter McCoubrey, with whom her urn will be buried. The private family ceremony will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norristown, PA.
