Miss Nancy Ophelia Wright, daughter of Mrs. Mary J. Wright, Williamsville, Va., graduated with a Secretarial diploma. Miss Wright received the Vice-President of class award. Miss Wright has a position as Secretary with Peoples Finance Service of Staunton.
Nancy Wright McCoy, 74, of Rockingham, went to be with her Lord on Dec. 25, 2018.
She was born Jan. 3, 1944 in Williamsville, a daughter of the late Kenneth Blair and Mary Josephine Splaun Wright.
Mrs. McCoy was a 1962 graduate of Monterey High School and a 1963 graduate of Dunsmore Business College. She retired from the Virginia State Corporation Commission, where she was employed as a secretary. Before moving to be closer to family, she was a member of Boulevard United Methodist Church, and a dedicated volunteer at Retreat Hospital in Richmond.
On June 15, 1968, she was united in marriage to Randall Hugh McCoy, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Nelson and Marvin Wright; and two sisters, Mary Opal Alt and Ruth Linda Simmons.
Mrs. McCoy is survived by a niece, Kathy Lambert and husband Mark; nephew, Marvin Lynn Wright; great-niece, Paige Lambert; a sister-in-law and several brothers-in-law; and beloved friends.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018 at White Birch Community with the Rev. Jim Harris officiating.
