Mildred I. Farmer, age 84, of Glen Carbon, IL, formerly of Steelville, MO, passed away on 6:48 AM, March 3, 2020, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. Mildred was born on November 30, 1935, in Cuba, MO, the daughter of the late Harold & Bessie (Thomas) Taylor. She married Charles Farmer on August 10, 1957, in Steelville, MO. Besides her husband, Mildred is survived by two sons, Daniel Farmer & wife, Jill, of Worden, IL and Michael Farmer of Glen Carbon, IL; one daughter, Rhonda Bass & husband, John, of Warrenton, MO; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; one brother, John Taylor & wife, Carolyn, of Steelville, MO; three sisters, Georgia Helderman & husband, Wayne, of Whitewater, MO, Patsy Havens & husband, John, of St. James, MO, and Wanda Halbert of Steelville, MO. Mildred was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Taylor & James Taylor; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Taylor & Pauline Taylor; and one brother-in-law, Carman Halbert. Mildred enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing piano, and doing embroidery. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM with Rev. Robert McNutt presiding. Interment will follow at Glen Carbon City Cemetery. Memorials can be made to New Covenant Church.
