Operation Inherent Resolve
2nd Marine Raider Battalion, Marine Forces Special Operations Command, out of Camp Lejeune, NC
He died when he and another Marine, GySgt Diego Pongo, suffered fatal wounds while accompanying Iraqi Security Forces during a mission to eliminate an ISIS stronghold in a mountainous area of north central Iraq. Among his military awards and decorations were a Purple Heart; the Joint Service Commendation Medal; the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal; and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. He received his rank promotion from Captain to Major posthumously.
He was survived by his parents; his wife; a daughter; three sons; and two brothers.
Interment on July 15, 2020.
