John V. Lindley, 85, of N. Derry Avenue, Yeagertown, passed away Saturday March 7, 2020.

He was born Oct. 21, 1934 in Abilene, Texas and was the son of the late William A. and Lauren Richardson Lindley.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Alverta L. (Homan) Lindley on Nov. 13, 2019.

He is survived by his children, Taushya Reid of Reedsville, Ernest Lindley and wife Terri of Port Milita., Valorie Benford and husband Edward of Pleasant Gap, Vanessa Cantolina of Lock Haven, Trina Thompson and husband Doug of Mill Creek; one sister, Beulah Thiel, of Kansas; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was a truck driver with over 1 million miles.

John was a member of the New Lancaster Valley Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m., Friday, March 27, 2020 at the Barr Funeral Home and Crematory, 120 Logan St. with Rev. Frank Trego to officiate.

There will be a time of visitation with the family from 4 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
