AGE 60 YEARS
Mary Ellen Farrar, of Hughesville, died Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Muncy, after a yearlong fight with end-stage Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy. She was a daughter of the late Thomas W. and Martha J. (Swisher) Karschner.
Mary Ellen was a graduate of Hughesville High School, Class of 1977, and attended Wilma Boyd Career School. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter. Mary Ellen also enjoyed playing the piano, playing cards with her in-laws, and her cats. She was a collector of all things, hummingbird and Siamese cat related.
Surviving are two daughters, Samantha R. (John) Duell, and Erin M. Farrar, both of Hughesville; a son, Clinton W. Farrar of Hughesville; two grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, Stacie Keen of Muncy, Lauri Farrar of Muncy, and Hallie Farrar of Montgomery; and a brother-in-law, Gregory Farrar of Muncy. In addition to her parents, Mary Ellen was preceded in death by a son, Bradley T. Farrar; and her former husband, Timothy S. Farrar.
