Taurean was raised in Liberty, Mississippi. He was an honor roll student and member of the Junior ROTC at Amite County High School before joining the U.S. Army shortly after graduating in 2003. He had been in Afghanistan since December, 2006. He was awarded a bronze star medal, a purple heart, and a army good conduct medal. Survivors include his "angel," daughter Tiana Marie Harris of Franklin, La.; his proud, loving mother, Yolanda Wagner of Liberty; his father, Sgt. Cecil Harris of Tucson, Arizona; two sisters, Tara Cockerham and husband Kendrick of Magnolia, and Bianca Sesson of Evanston, Ill.; four brothers, William Harris and Justin Davis, both of Liberty, and Christian and Okoye Harris, both of Tucson; three nephews, Tydric, Ty'-Kereus and Kendrick; a devoted great-grandmother, Mary Wagner of Chicago; grandparents, Mamie and Willie Tobias, and Luther and Doris Williams, all of Chicago; a special father figure, his uncle Fredrick Wagner and wife Barbara of DeDeDo, Guam; uncles, Rodrick Shine and Christopher Morley, both of Chicago, and Michael Haynes of Centreville; four aunts, Thais Howard and husband Donald and Michelle Harris, all of Chicago, Marion Huff and husband Willie of Centreville, and Damita Harris of Tucson; his loving daughter's mother, Joanie Poleder of Franklin, La.; a loving godmother, Nicole Wagner; a godsister, Ta'Kensha Beecham of McComb; a godchild, Jayden Addison; a special great-aunt who named him, Hattie Marie Wagner of New Orleans; special cousins Carl "C.J." Wagner Jr., Jayinda Veals and Ashley Young; best friends, Jonetha Causey, Bason Knox and Lyndell White; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Julio and Reba Williams and Will Davis.
