Ralph & Leona had 6 daughters: Grace Irene, Rose Ilene, Lois Mabel, Mary Jo, Noranna Merle (later Ann Elizabeth), and Zella Mae. By 1940, the U.S. Federal Census shows Mary Jo living with Julian and Vida Hodges in North Campbell, Greene County, Missouri and listed as a foster daughter. The 1940 U.S. Federal Census shows Mary Jo's sisters Lois, Noranna and Zella Mae living at Mother's Jewels Home and Hospital in York, Nebraska.
Presumably, Mary Jo was adopted legally by the Hodges; she became known as Mary Jo Hodges.
On 10 May 1952 Mary Jo married Clarence Dean Nicholson in California. They had 4 children, only 2 of whom survived. She died in 2007 in California, perhaps in Cupertino.
