Born February 23, 1940 in the Highland Ridge Section of Morgan County, WV, he was the son of the late Isaac Dawson and Vertie Cleo Bohrer Stotler.
He was a member of Stone Bridge Church of the Brethren in Hancock, MD. Dave was a 1959 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School. He retired as a materials handler from Fleetwood Industries in Hancock. Dave was a member of Mountain State Cruisers and enjoyed car shows, baseball and board games.
Dave is survived by his son, Christopher Todd Stotler and his wife Tonya, of Cross Junction, VA, two grandchildren, Victoria Lea Gelbert of Culpeper, VA and Ty James Owen of Richmond, VA, two great grandchildren, Audrey Mae Gelbert and Aiden James “AJ” Gelbert, both of Culpeper, VA and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanore Jean Stotler, two sisters, Mandella Elizabeth Stotler and Carrie Stotler and five brothers, John West Stotler, Philip Charles Stotler, Alfred Dover Stotler, Isaac Dawson Stotler, Jr. and Belmont Roosevelt Stotler.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2020 at Stone Bridge Church of the Brethren, 14904 Orchard Ridge Road, Hancock, MD with Pastor Harry Strite, Pastor Chuck Bergen and Rev. Paul Martin officiating. Interment will be in Stone Bridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV.
