Funeral Services for Ricky Gene “Rick” Wallace of Elsberry, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2020 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. John Yonker, interim pastor of the Elsberry First Christian Church, will officiate. Burial with full military honors will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Al Wood, James Wallace, Tim Wallace, Hunter Wallace, Sydney Wallace and Jeremy Weingartner.

Mr. Wallace, 62, passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 in Troy, MO. Born July 10, 1957 in Kennett, MO, he was the son of Ralph and Margaret Busby Wallace. Rick was a 1975 graduate of Normandy High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from March 22, 1976 until he was honorably discharged on April 4, 1977. Rick was united in marriage on June 5, 1976 in Berkley, MO to Catherine “Cathy” Marie Wood. This union was blessed with two sons, James and Tim, and they made their home in Ferguson, MO. Rick was employed as a Paramedic for Abbott Ambulance Service and was a volunteer firefighter for Community Fire Department in North St. Louis County. Rick and Cathy moved to Elsberry in 1999. He earned his Associates Degree from ITT Tech College. He was then employed as computer tech / network administrator for H & R Block Accounting, retiring in 2015. Rick was a member of the Elsberry First Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Margaret Wallace; his parents-in-law, Charles Lee and Hazel Parker Wood; one brother, Randy Wallace; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Louise Wood and Mary Ellen Parker; and one infant daughter who was stillborn, Cara Marie Wallace.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 43 years, Cathy Wallace of Elsberry; two sons: James Wallace and his wife, Ashley, of Columbia, MO, and Tim Wallace and his partner, Carol, of Elsberry; their adopted daughter, Renee Young of Elsberry; and three grandchildren, Hunter, Carter and Sydney. Rick also leaves one brother, Terry Wallace; three sisters, Pat Wallace of Overland, MO, Debbie Wallace-Rothman of Troy, and Charlotte Robinson and her husband, Bill, of Warrenton, MO; four brothers-in-law: Richard Wood and his wife, Roma, of Ashley, IL, Charles Wood of Warrenton, Alfred Wood and his wife, Sandra, of Troy, MO and Frank Wood of Elsberry; one sister-in-law, Cheri Buckner and her husband, Jerry, of O’Fallon, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to the Family of Rick Wallace in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
