Diana Lynn (Edwards) Freeman, 64, Martinsville, passed away peacefully surrounded by members of her family on Friday, June 23, 2017 after a long struggle with cancer.
She was born on Tuesday, June 24, 1952 in Phoenix, Arizona, to the late Frederick D. and Ethel E. (Keesling) Edwards.
Diana graduated from Hayworth High School in Kokomo, Indiana, in 1970. She was a varsity cheerleader, member of the National Honor Society and prom queen her senior year. She was popular and loved by many. She also was a talented oil painter and loved animals.
She is survived by her son, Tanner Freeman and wife Rachel and grandson Bryce; brother, Martin Edwards and wife Cathy; sister, Rhonda (Edwards) Ehlers and husband Ray. She also has a stepdaughter, Abby Schaney and step granddaughter, Sydney. Diana will be sadly missed by her many loving cousins whom she cherished the time spent with them on their farm while growing up. She loved her three nieces, Tiffanie of Kokomo, Ashlie of Hartford, Wisconsin, Moreen of Tipton and her nephew, Fred of Florida. She will also be missed by two special friends, Cathy and Gene Veach.
A memorial service will be 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Costin Funeral Chapel in Martinsville. Visitation will be prior to the service starting at 2:00 p.m.
