SULPHUR SPRINGS — Glenda N. (White) Browning, 56, of Sulphur Springs, died Aug. 2, 2007, at the home of her daughter following an extended illness.

She was born March 23, 1951, in Kentucky, the daughter of the late Conway White and Viola Leach.

Glenda had been a volunteer at the Christian Center Rescue Ministries of Anderson for the past two years. She also was a former correctional officer at the CIC in Pendleton.

Glenda enjoyed reading and playing cards. She also enjoyed making arts and crafts along with cooking. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening and loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Sebrena (husband, Andy) Lumpkin of Sulphur Springs; a son, Brian White of New Castle; two grandsons, Jacob Lumpkin of Sulphur Springs and Trevor Scott White of New Castle; a granddaughter, Tristen White of Shirley; one brother, Bill (wife, Bonnie) McCarty of Sulphur Springs; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Wells.

Services will be 3 p.m. Monday at the Main & Davis Funeral Home Broad Street Chapel in New Castle with Rev. Toby N. Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens west of New Castle.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Center Rescue Ministries of Anderson, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
