Sylvia Louise Woods-Dixon, of K.C., MO, formerly of Columbia, MO, died on June 15, 2012, at K.C. Hospice House. She was born on August 22, 1937, to Madge K. Woods and Sylvester Brooks. She was the adopted daughter of George B. Dixon. Her parents and stepfather preceded her in death.
She graduated from Fred Douglass Sr. High School class of 1954. After graduation she moved to Los Angeles, CA, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in nursing from California State University class of 1981. She was employed at Los Angeles County Hospital and retired after thirty-one years of service.
Graveside services were held Thursday, June 21, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Columbia.
