She was born to the late Fred Scott and Clarice B. Scott on April 8, 1929, in Uniontown, Alabama.
Lena received her G.E.D. in 1980 at Mackenzie High School in Detroit, Michigan.
Lena accepted Christ at an early age and moved around to several states before settling in Detroit, Michigan where she landed a job at High Grade Packing Company.
She’s the queen of home remedies. If you were sick, she had the cure. She loved traveling, fishing, and enjoyed the company of her grandchildren. She was a wonderful gardener, growing her own fresh fruits and vegetables. She was a pillar in her community, part of her block club, as well as the neighborhood watch.
Lena is preceded in death by six brothers; one sister; three children, Elnora J. Payne, Peter J. Walton and Clarice A. Hayes.
