Stephen Alfred Burgess, son of the late Alfred and Elvira Burgess, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2013 at Epsom Health Care Center after a long term illness. Steve was born in Nashua, NH on September 17, 1946 and grew up in Merrimack, NH. As an adult he stayed close to home in surrounding communities and settled in Antrim, NH close to his daughters.

Steve worked much of his life in various management positions. He was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox; Jerry Remy being one of his favorites. Music was his passion and he enjoyed sharing his collection of music with his family and friends. He enjoyed attending concerts, camping, and spending time with family. He was a member of and contributed to the New Hampshire Humane Society.

Steve is survived by his children, Laurie Demers of Antrim, NH, Tammy Grenier of Peterborough, NH, Matthew Burgess of Duxbury, VT, and Kristin Card of Hillsborough, NH. His grandchildren are Nicholas and Patrick Demers, Sheena Burgess, Brendan Grenier, Jessica Corey, Tucker and Kassidy Card, and great-grandson, Liam Mills. He is also survived by his brother James Burgess of Hillsborough, NH, his brother Kenneth Burgess and wife Cecile of Merrimack, NH, his sister Gloria Schofield and husband Mark of Merrimack, NH, and many nieces and nephews.

A family graveside service will be held at Last Rest Cemetery in Merrimack, NH and a “Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the VFW Post 8641 located on 282 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack, NH from 1:00PM to 4:00PM.
