Rita was born in San Luis, Colorado, October 1939, the oldest daughter of Florindo and Julia Martinez who preceded her death. Mom grew up in Colorado, moved to California then Missouri and ultimately returned to her hometown of Ordway. Mom enjoyed walking, meeting new people, making new friendships, working in a garden, and playing the nickel slots machines when possible; but most important to her was being in the company of family and friends. Those that knew my mom; knew her to be a caring woman who was always there to help when she could.

Mom is survived by her son, Donald, Daughter in-law Sylvia, her pride and joy Grandson Ryan (Her Hee-Tee), her Sisters; Lydia, Concha, Kathy, her Brothers; Andrew, Mike, Sisto, and Adelmo. Mom’s brothers Joseph, Frank and Pete preceded her death.
