Julia Ann Fox, born April 1843 in Chickasaw, Mississippi, was the daughter of Dr. Joseph Fox and Elizabeth Shaw. They moved from Mississippi to Kaufman County, Texas. There she married Capt. John Wesley Fox. Later they moved to Estacado and then to the town of Emma, which he helped establish. Not long after that he was killed by the kick of a vicious horse on March 8, 1892. Julia died July 4, 1933. The obituary in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche announced on July 5, 1933 that Julia Ann died in a daughter's home in Lubbock, Texas with the Funeral Rites to be held on July 5, 1933. Burial will be held in the Emma cemetery
