Dora Louise Oliver Allen (Dodie) of Blairsville, born March 19, 1928, passed away Friday March 6, 2020 at almost 92 years old. She was born and raised on the family farm in Maine, but made Georgia her adopted home in 1958. In between she lived in Massachusetts, Long Island, NY., Georgia, San Francisco, and then Georgia again to stay. He parents were Margie Foster Oliver and Leroy Oliver and her other eight older siblings were Flossie, Lib, Margie, Joyce and Buster, Keith, Phillip and Floyd.

She is survived by her daughter and best friend Kelly Melissa Allen. She was married to Mark Robert Allen and widowed when her daughter Kelly was an infant. She was an insurance accountant for nearly her entire career.

Dodie lived to read and sing and play guitar and hike trails and loved her cats and dogs and all of God and Mother Nature’s creatures whole heartedly, She had a life-long fascination of all things western, cowboys and Indians and a deep appreciation of the Mexican and Spanish culture, heritage and language. Dodie was beautiful, loyal, dependable, compassionate, kind hearted, hard working, determined and ladylike all at the same time. She will be sorely missed by her daughter, beloved nieces, nephews and friends and pets. We love you Dodie!
