Mrs. Ferguson was born, July 8, 1938, in Rockbridge County and was the daughter of the late William Porter Vest and Ada Long Vest. She was a member of The Union View Advent Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Vest Getz, and her husband, Donald Getz
She is survived by her husband, Franklin Austin Ferguson; two sons, Keith Austin Ferguson Sr. and wife Melissa and Anthony “Tony” William Ferguson; a daughter, Kathy Ferguson Rogers; one sister, Shirley Vest Gilliam; seven grandchildren, Keith Austin Ferguson Jr. and wife Holly, Christopher “Shane” Ferguson and wife Meghan, Brian Wayne Shifflett, Matthew Scott Ferguson, Amy Kay Rogers, Mckenzie Ava Ferguson, Brody William Ferguson; six great-grandchildren, Faith Elizabeth Ferguson, Noah Austin Ferguson, Grace Ann Ferguson, Kathleen Patricia Ferguson, Nolan Brooks Ferguson, Levi Young Shifflett; and a special niece, Linda Gay Ferguson.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Bolling, Grose and Lotts Funeral Chapel by Pastor Bobby Daniel Sr. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 21 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
