Norfolk - David W. Engle, 99, passed away April 18, 2015. He was born Nov. 17, 1915 in Flint, Michigan to the late Harvey and Dessie Engle. Mr. Engle proudly served his country in the US Navy retiring after 20 years. He continued his career at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard where he retired after 39 years. For more than 60 years, Mr. Engle was an active mason, including membership at the Ocean View Masonic Lodge.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Lee Engle. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Ann Hartman and her husband Robert and Carol Rhodes and her husband Tony; grandchildren, Crystal Baines, Jennifer Sturm, Danielle Ripatti, and Todd Blanchard; and four great-granddaughters.
A service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
