Rickey Lebron Smith age 74, of Ringgold passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020 at his home. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and a member of the 1964 graduating class of LaFayette High School. Rickey retired from Velsicol Chemical in Chattanooga, Tennessee and was a member of Nellie Head Memorial Baptist Church in Tunnel Hill, Georgia.
Rickey is preceded in death by his parents, Carl R. and Geraldine “Gerri” Smith and his sister Carol Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sherrell Campbell Smith; son, Brian Craig Smith of Ringgold; sisters, Linda (Lee) Hall, Gloria (Tip) Stott of Chattanooga, Tennessee; nieces, Sandra Hesler of Harrison, Tennessee, Valerie (Greg) Buckler of Jacksonville, Florida and his best friend and furbaby Rusty.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday March 8, 2020, and from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2020 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday March 10, 2020 in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
