Sandra Johnston Leach, 52, of Richmond, Virginia departed in the early morning of Sunday, March 8, 2020. She is survived by her husband, her son and her daughter, as well as her mother, her father, and her brother. She also leaves countless friends and students gathered across 30 years of caring and teaching, through which she was able to realize her greatest passion and become a Reading Specialist at North Elementary School in Prince George, Virginia. Her classroom, as all of those before, was filled with the books she had collected, which best-taught children how to read; and with penguins, which all of her family, friends, and students knew to be her other passion. Sandi was proud that she was able to teach what she loved, proud of her students, and proud of her family. In lieu of flowers, Sandi asks that books, or donations for books, be donated to Prince George County (If you decide to do this the address is:

A worship service for Sandi will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2020, at Second Presbyterian Church, 5 North Fifth Street, Richmond, Virginia 23219. The visitation and memorial service will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2020, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
